Melinda Gordon, a Realtor with Bernstein Realty, not only has real estate in her DNA, she also has experience and knowledge, not only from being in the industry, but she grew up in her family-owned business.
“My family’s business was commercial real estate, and they also owned Al’s Formal Wear. It was so much fun working with my father for 22 years,” Gordon said.
Gordon also worked in the family’s retail business, where she honed many skills, from negotiating product pricing, to purchase analysis, logistics, working on a budget, working with diverse customers to finding the items to meet their needs and more.
“When my father passed away and the business was sold, it was time for a change. So, I began working in residential real estate, and I love it. I love working with my clients and helping them find the right home for them to build memories with their families,” Gordon said.
Bernstein Realty has an extremely large number of relocation clients looking to move to different parts of Houston and surrounding areas. So, for the past four years, Gordon has been going where her clients are interested.
Moreover, as a native Houstonian, she knows the many different areas.
“I work with clients where they are interested. Many are interested in areas where I have lived, such as West University, Bellaire, and Briargrove. Also, other areas include the Heights, Rice Military, Energy Corridor, Cypress, Spring Branch, and the list goes on,” Gordon said.
Gordon and her husband of 30 years have bought and sold a number of homes, giving her personal experience of being both a buyer and seller, so she understands what her clients go through.
With this experience, she is able to help make each transaction as smooth as possible.
Gordon has continued her education to ensure her clients receive the best possible service. For example, she holds an Accredited Buyers Representative and Social Media Pro designations.
A few of Gordon’s awards and honors include being the 2018 Shining Star and 2019 Top Leasing Agent with Bernstein Realty.
She is also known for her attention to detail, excellent communication skills, honesty, as well as being ethical, available to her clients, friendly and outgoing. And with three grown children, she is able to work long hours for her clients.
“Since January and the low interest rates, I have been busier than I ever have, and I enjoy working with each of my clients. I love what I do, and people say it shows,” Gordon said.
